March 16, 2025 – Scheduled Disaster Recovery Network Resiliency Tests
On Sunday, March 16, 2025 between 4am and 8am, the University of Maryland Division of Information Technology will conduct a set of disaster recovery network resiliency tests that could cause intermittent service interruptions to DEP. This is a regular annual activity and it generally results in no discernable impact or at worst several seconds of connection interruptions over the entire duration of the test.
March 4, 2025 – WMATA Fare and Secondary Location for Event Data Added
On March 4, 2025, the DEP now includes WMATA fare data added in a new section called <fares> which contains the fare amounts based on destination from the current stop. This data only shows up in the GTFS requests that use the type stop since fares are associated with each stop.
In addition to the new WMATA fare data, the DEP now also includes <linkLocation> element to accommodate traffic events with more than one <pointLocation> element.
February 11, 2025 – Neabsco Parking Garage Data Added
On February 11, 2025, the DEP API output includes the Prince William County Neabsco parking garage data.
January 28, 2025 – Loudoun County Real-Time Bus Locations
On January 27, 2025, the DEP API output includes the Loudoun County real-time bus locations. The bus locations come from a custom data feed, but the DEP API output closely resembles the GTFS-RT format, including additional data elements available from the source feed, but not defined in the GTFS-RT specification.
January 27, 2025 – Data Set List Update
On January 27, 2025, the DEP Data Set List was updated to provide a more functional table allowing users to sort and filter data sets based on their properties.
December 10, 2024 – New INRIX Endpoints Available
As of December 10, 2024, the DEP API now includes two new endpoints (/rm3p/dep_inrix_tmc and /rm3p/dep_inrix_xd) that provide a full complement of INRIX data available to DEP. These new endpoints, defined and described in the API Reference Documentation, provide a superset of data currently available in the old INRIX API endpoints. The old endpoints (/rm3p/dep_speed_tt_tmc and /rm3p/dep_speed_tt_xd) will be deprecated and decommissioned on March 1, 2025. If you are currently using these old endpoints, please plan to switch to the new endpoints before March 1, 2025.
