Data Exchange Platform Overview

The RM3P Data-Exchange Platform (DEP) is a reliable, continuously updated, cloud-based data storage and exchange system. It is used by regional partners and third-party providers to capture, process, and exchange information on real-time and historic multi-modal travel conditions. This platform feeds necessary data to other RM3P program elements and disseminates value-added and full-grown data produced by these elements. RM3P management team selected the Regional Integrated Transportation Information System (RITIS) to function as the foundation of the DEP.

Roadmap

What Sets RM3P DEP Apart?

Data

The RM3P DEP platform avoids being too singularly focused or broad by providing a variety of prioritized data sets supporting key use cases.

Exchange

The RM3P DEP platform maintains an organized and efficient structure with a powerful API, raw data download, and associated tools.

Platform

The RM3P DEP platform is not limited to a one-time release and rigid constraints. It has been built to be flexible, scalable, and evolving.

What Data is Available?

The DEP provides access to a continually growing list of data sets to support multi-modal mobility application development. The currently available data includes traffic events and incidents, work zones, parking, public transit, traffic signal status, road weather stations, traffic detectors, probe vehicle speeds and travel times, and others.

How to Get Access?

To access the available data in DEP, users must have a RITIS account and request an API key for the DEP API. Most data is available to all authorized users, but some data sets are limited to specific user groups, as outlined in the API reference documentation. Follow the detailed access instructions to get access. For assistance with accounts or other support requests, please contact dep-support@ritis.org.
